My first surprise was that the Restaurant is located inside a casino. Not what I was expecting. The loud music, the casino you need to walk thru… Had I checked a little better, this would not have been my first choice. Service was friendly and my server tried to make sure I was satisfied despite my obvious lack of enthusiasm for the venue.
I’d say all in all it was ok but it didn’t Wow me which given the name, I thought it should. And IMHO, Chives should be a garnish used sparingly. And as a funny side note, when the manager asked my how it was, I said it was just OK. He smiled and thanked me for coming. I wonder if he ever heard my response...lol
Started with the Jalapeño Corn Bread, Roll and Crab & Sweet Corn Chowdah. The bread was good and once I took some of the Chives off the top, the soup was very good too.
How does a guy like Emeril put his name on a place like this? Does he even stop by to check on his establishments? Apparently not! This is a "supposed" fish house? Are you kidding me? I come from NY and let me tell you brother, I can name at least 3 real seafood places in Brooklyn, NY alone that offer way more seafood than this place! And if you REALLY wanna get a boatload of fresh seafood, a place like City Island in the Bronx blows Emeril outta the water!!! Sorry but not worth the astronomical prices charged here! The waitress was the most pleasant thing about this place!

Then onto the Wedge… Baby Iceberg, Bleu Cheese, Grape Tomatoes, House Bacon and garnished with Fried Onion Crisps. This was quite good and while I’m not crazy about onions, I ate every morsel…
Three of us went here for an early dinner. No reservations but we had only a short wait. The wait staff was attentive, answered all our questions, and checked on us often (the manager also stopped by mid meal to make sure everything was to our satisfaction). All three of us enjoyed our entrees - we recommend the red drum, the miso scallops, and the farm-raised catfish. We will definitely be back again.
Went here last evening for dinner before a comedy show. They offered a $30 3-course prix-fix meal. The options, at first glance, looks great. The waitress was fantastic, however, the food was a joke. We oreder 2 appetizers on top of the 3-course dinners the 4 if us had. The calamari, at $12, did not come with much and was made chewy by the sauce labeled into the bottom of the dish. The hush puppies, at $8, were nothing to write home about. The buttermilk chicken was rubbery. The steak medallions looked like an appetizer; they were 2 tiny slider-sized medallions of beef with a spoonful of mashed potatoes. I was almost embarassed for the waitress when she handed then to us. The only thing good about this place was the waitress and the beignets, which unfortunately took 20 minutes for the kitchen to make and almost made us run late to our show. Avoid this place if you want a decent meal.
This place is like no other. Fresh, I really mean fresh, fish and seafood! Everything was cooked and presented beautifully.
Then finished with Chef Emeril’s New Orleans Style Barbecued Shrimp overloaded with more Chives and served over Castle Valley Mill Cheddar Grit… Shrimp was cooked perfectly.
Passed on dessert and finished with my signature Cappuccino...
